Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)..one part of the famous Absinth

The effect of Wormwood is painkilling, narcotic and sedative.


Recipes: The most conventional and least harmful way of using Wormwood is as a tincture or tea. However, it has the most horrible bitter flavor, which makes the tea almost undrinkable. The active ingredients can be extracted from the herb with alcohol. Place 25 grams of the herb in ½ a liter of vodka, for 1 week. After straining it, this drink is ready for consumption. Initially, only try a small glass to be able to dose it properly.


Combinations: The bitter flavor, is not easily masked. Some Peppermint or Aniseed is recommended. Sweet and bitter don’t really go well together, so avoid adding any sugar. To prepare a smoking blend, mix with equal parts of Wild Lettuce, Passionflower and 1/8 part of Peppermint leaves. Use a filter, so the bitter flavor is not noticed on the lips and in the mouth.

Warning: Wormwood is not only a psychic stimulant, but it is also poisonous, when used in large amounts for long periods of time. Excessive use of Wormwood extracts can lead to dependence and addiction.
