The substance Valerenic acid inhibits the breakdown of GABA, a chemical transmitter in the brain, which helps to decrease activity in the nervous system. This in turn can aid the promotion of a deeper, more relaxing restful sleep.

Each tablet provides the equivalent to 500mg of whole Valerian root.

  A hypnotic drug very like valium  This is a good way to take a herb, that frankly smells like cat pee. No nasty odour or inconsistant dosage. Hitler was a big far of the herb, but it will not turn you into a Nazi. It is useful to calm your nerves or to aid sleep. Certinly worth a go, but do not mix with booze. good stuff.   Magic Mick
